Let’s start here: summer learning loss is real—but it’s also manageable.
It doesn’t mean your child forgets everything. It doesn’t mean you failed. And it certainly doesn’t mean you need to pack your summer with flashcards and phonics drills.
But it does mean we need to be thoughtful about how we approach long breaks—especially when we’ve spent the year helping our kids build momentum, confidence, and skills.
